The last two weeks....

Well in the last two weeks, we've packed up all of stuff, sold a few things, bought a few new things, driven 27 hours and finally made it to our new home in Denver, CO on 2/27/09.  We couldn't be more thrilled with our new place here - we've rented a beautiful loft right in downtown Denver (or Lodo, meaning Lower Downtown).  After living in our tiny 700 square foot place in Santa Barbara, we've been in a bit of shock, considering that our new loft is 1600 square feet!

Aside from being able to walk to many shops and restaurants, we also are just a short drive from a lot of our friends out here, and we love being in such close proximity to everything!  We're a 45 minute drive from my (Katie's) parents and have already been down twice to visit, which has been wonderful!  Living in the city is a drastic change from living in Santa Barbara, but we absolutely love th

We have of course had the usual challenges that come with moving - not being able to find things (we accidentally left a box of our cooking pots in Santa Barbara!), getting lost finding our way around, the hassle of changing all of our information to reflect our new address, and of course the daunting task of trying to get everything unpacked.  However, in the midst of these challenges, we have been overwhelmed with thankfulness as we count our many blessings - we've been amazed by the friends we have here, having such a beautiful new place to live, and of course feeling thankful that we had a safe drive and no major hassles getting out here.

This week we've been focused on trying to get back into our work routine and deal with all of the work that's been waiting for us while we've been preoccupied with moving.  We've gotten most everything out of boxes, and just dealing with small things, and trying to get some prints up on our walls!  In the next week or two, we definitely will be posting pictures of the loft, but in the meantime, we just thought we'd give an update! :)

We made it!!

Well to our friends and family who have been waiting for an update, we are excited to start this blog that we hope will serve well to keep our long distance friends update on what we've been up to!  We'll try to be updating this blog periodically, along with our other business blog (www.chrishumphreys.typepad.com) so we hope you'll check back!

And, just because posts are always better with pictures, here's a picture of Gracie enjoying the new spot!
